His Ever Present Form
Standing, unwavering
His plaster like fingers point
To the garden entrance
As His smile is a welcome friend
On the path that takes us there
I cannot help but feel safe
As I look back and see Him there
With that non-moving gaze
As His eyes never move from my back
I move forward with surety
I know He is but a statue
But it remains a symbol of truth
It is a reminder of presence
For when we feel weak and weary
He is there to see us along
