His

Another day
     another fight
          icy fortress heart
               dormant in my breast
I turn away from him

He reaches
     fingers clinging
          soulful puppy eyes
               sorrowful, pleading
I'm drawn into his gaze

Flash fire
     ice melting
          hot rivers of love
               stream down my cheeks
I blink back the tears
water o're flows these dam'd eyes.

Trudy - Very emotional poem you have penned - You know in regards to your comment I thank you and my wife and I are so blessed in so many ways - I truly wish that I could somehow express just how much I adore her but after hundreds of attempts through poetry I always feel I have fell far short of what she deserves - I also hope that you are blessed with someone of that nature for you deserve to be loved in that way - God bless
