Hiding In the Crowd: Part 4

You may wonder why I utter these words
Why I arrogantly proclaim to
Know what really drives you
Why I claim to know
Your hidden motives and desires
And reasons
For you choice
To travel on the rocky paths
That you have been strolling on
It is because I walk
That bitter lonely existence
Everyday of my life
Just like you
My recent transgressions
Tell the story of a woman
Who searches relentlessly
For happiness
In all the wrong places
Coming up empty every time
Getting no where
Time and time again
Traveling in circles
Because I never find what
I truly need
What I am really searching for
What will bring true happiness
Into my miserable life
I always end up back
At the start
Of this exhausting game
Once again
Running into myself
Hitting a dead end
Consumed with
An aching void
In my soul
And in my life
That never leaves me
When I look at you
I believe I see
Another lost soul
Desperate to be free
From the numb existence
That you are living
And dying in
