"I'm okay, you're okay is a mask in the land of pretend " I live in a vast land known as pretend, it is a sad place of death and decay; I'm okay ... I tell family and friend. But, in truth I relive all deaths- each day, in my mind's eye are the graves where they lay. I wear a mask, and guise, and a false face, hiding, never facing grief face-to-face. But, I must or I will never be healed, and if I can, you can ... the past retrace; no more shield- we need all to be revealed.

I know what it is like to tell people you are okay when you are not. I also ask people from time to time if they really want to know how I am doing. Good job with your poem and congrats on your win. Oh yeah, you choose a great picture to go with your poem.

Such a beautiful poem dear Constance as always from your golden pen. So heartfelt and full of deep emotions. So many will be able to relate to this. The picture accompanying the poem makes it even more poignant. ‘In my mind’s eye are the graves where they lay’ really stand out and grabs you. Your poem resonated deeply with me. How often I'm guilty of living in the land of pretend...sometimes by choice, sometimes not so. How powerful I found the words,'never facing grief face-to-face' captivating...but we all must in order to heal. Wisdom in this creation. Loved it, Sara

So heartfelt and sincere, well expressed, we all live in a land of pretend and sometimes i find it so hard to respond to a simple “ how are you” as its not easy. I felt this. Well expressed as always
