Hide Yourself Under His Wings - Isaiah 26: 20
Here we have the words of Isaiah
a prophet of old testament times
speaking forth the words of God
His absolute truth, not just rhymes
God always tells His people to go
for wanting their best at heart
even when trouble comes close by
aware that Satan fires his fiery darts
The Lord alone is your protector
obey your God, close your doors
stay safe and hide yourself
till the storm passes and soars
The prophet's words are so meaningful
we can relate to this in our day
as the present pandemic surrounds us
fears grip us as our skies turn grey
But we need to heed these words
hide then in our souls for a little while
God knows everything about all this
He's got it measured to the exact mile
Hide yourself under His wings
find hope in your soul to sing
of God's mercies in times past
be sure this won't be the last
look in wonder in your God eternally cling
("Come, my people, enter your chambers,
and shut your doors behind you;
hide yourselves for a little while
until the fury has passed by." ) Isaiah 26: 20 (ESV)
