Hide and Seek

People hide behind masks of normality For reasons unknown to people living in reality They tuck themselves away in surreal places Nobody knows they’re gone just by looking at their faces These peoples’ actions speak louder than their words For words are just letters strung together on cords But actions, they are a reflection of one’s personality For they show flaws in a masked persons’ morality These masked people cannot be distinguished So that their masks cannot be extinguished Living in a world of defenses and lies Is their sense of a suitable disguise Living truthfully and with a sense of pride Is the only way to make the pain of reality subside
