Hibiscus

So smooth so cool, my hibiscus Soothing, yet as blade is your life Beauty mint white and red Why do nations make you a symbol And goddesses take you like rainbow Warm heart this ornate plant What’s hidden beneath that heart Your funnel-shape and soft petals? Trumpet shape you baroque flower Depiction of a goddess on earth Your warm temperate nature That hearts seek to nurture But wild flower your nature Yet, heart of men desire Life in complete symbol you are Minds of men you hurt to marrow Like stones to flying sparrow These complications in nature When you brought the mind succour Makes hibiscus a woman
