Hey God

Hey God, have you glanced down lately, At the world that we're living in, I don't know how we made it this far, Can't you see we're drowning in sin, We give kids guns and they're soldiers, They can't drink, but they can fight our wars, Where is love, without it we're nothing, What's life when you've lost your soul, And why, if you know that we're dying, Is it so hard and so slow, Last night I dreamt we were talking, And here's what I wanted to know... Does it ever Get any better Will it ever Hurt any less Is it ever Worth all this pain Do we ever Find love and happiness Tell me which way to forever Do you listen when we cry these prayers And how... how far is Heaven I'm so tired Please take me there Now here we are with one foot in Heaven, There we go the other foot in hell, They say things will get better, I look around it's so hard to tell, You can have these guns I don't need them, Keep your drugs, I can't use them anymore, My dreams, they're my salvation, My wings, someday I'll soar, I cry now and wish for the laughter, And I fight so one day we'll play, And Lord I hope that I meet you, Then here's what I'll say... Does it ever Get any better Will it ever Hurt any less Is it ever Worth all this pain Do we ever Find love and happiness Tell me which way to forever Do you listen when we cry these prayers And how... how far is Heaven I'm so tired Please take me there
