Hereditary

I used to love the colour Of my eyes But now I look at the hue And see you And as I grow So do the similarities Between us The lines on my forehead The curve of my smile The weight of my brow It's yours I wonder how much of me is mine How much of me you've given, And how much you've taken with you When you left Every mirror I look in Is haunted by you I hope I grow to see the truth instead I hope to exorcise you from myself
