-----------------------------------------------------------------

Falling with the winds
if autumn makes them tired in the tree.
Transparent, like pieces of glass,
when they rest on the shore of the river.
They have their own language.
And like the nightingale entrusts her songs to the wind,
the leaves take their legends to the woods.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

So eloquently written Gert :) I enjoyed the comparison you used here-- somehow those skeletonized leaves pop to mind-- I find them very beautiful-- frail but beautiful nonetheless-- I hope that you had a great week & wonderful visit -- :) ingat! nikko :)

Excellent usse of personification, giving life to the leaves, Gert. I can see the leaves falling so vividly in your words. I especially like the last line: "leave take their legends to the woods." That is where the leaves decay and become part of recycling nature again. Excellent poem, my friend. Love, Carolyn
