Her Window Awaited
The night's sweet scent with fragrance of flowers
On breezes lingered a moment or two
Then whisked away, the bells tolling their hours
Skies clearing, dawn breaking, o'er hope's avenue
Her window awaited, trembled my heart
She'd opened the shade and called out so sweet
Those words, I felt, just might be the start
But who was her voice intending to greet
I stood there frozen and awkward a while
Please God, her beauty I'd finally see
Just then appeared in her window a smile
'Twas making its way so slowly to me
I reached out, clutched it; sure never to slip
Kiss, wing softly upward ~ Sail home to her lips
