Her Window Awaited

The night's sweet scent with fragrance of flowers On breezes lingered a moment or two Then whisked away, the bells tolling their hours Skies clearing, dawn breaking, o'er hope's avenue Her window awaited, trembled my heart She'd opened the shade and called out so sweet Those words, I felt, just might be the start But who was her voice intending to greet I stood there frozen and awkward a while Please God, her beauty I'd finally see Just then appeared in her window a smile 'Twas making its way so slowly to me I reached out, clutched it; sure never to slip Kiss, wing softly upward ~ Sail home to her lips March 02, 2021 ALL YOURS (March 03) Contest Sponsor: Brian Strand

What a beautiful final line that releases all the tension from the preceding lines. Congratulations Gershon. SuZ

Ahh! This touched my heart and made me smile, Gerson! You have eloquently expressed all the hope, and angst, of romance and love. Here's to dreams fulfilled through open windows!

Oh, so sweet. Enjoyed "hope's avenue" and "who was her voice intending to meet"--sigh

Ah! So passionate and romantic. I wonder who this angel might be. Thanks for all the visits to my page. I have made some changes to my work "Four Way" about the chihuahuas. They are terrified of loud noises and guns. They won't stay in the room when I use the vacuum cleaner, the broom, the mop, and they are terrified if there are gun shots off in the distance or close. Hairy is terrified when it thunders but Princess just lies down and relaxes. Very different animals to some extent. Sara

Thank you so much, Rama! As you can see, I'm a bit behind -- almost a week -- on some of my replies. Can't attribute that to being tongue-tied, I'm afraid -- which would be #1 on my wife's wish list, no doubt. lol. Thanks, again. Light and Life, Gershon
