Her Pearly Whites Broke My Heart
Her Pearly Whites Broke My Heart
there you sat in the cafe
in solitude, and in grace
so, so pristine
the most beautiful thing I have ever seen
i wanted to touch you
i really did
and smell your essence and scent
our eyes briefly caught
i imagined
and your's swayed away, briefly
as the warm ocean breeze
touched your carriage
of white pearls
so pristine and pearly white
i then saw the filtering sun
come into the cafe
and touch your radiant face
and you stretched and responded
like your arms opened up
to the sun in the sky
i was spellbound,smitten
and jealous
i tell the truth, i don't lie
... i was hurt
at how you were so captivated
and how sensual you were
... off into distance
white caps of waves
rolled into the sandy beach
palm trees blowing, pretty
but you were the most beautiful
... throngs of tourist walked by
but you were by far the most beautiful
my dear, my dear
next door there was music
bongo drums playing
and a women singing beautifully
but dear you were the most beautiful
i kept saying to myself
because you had that effect, my dear
you were really into it
the harmony
i saw you swaying in rhythm
dancing like
so, so beautiful
at that moment
i wanted to touch you
up close
i really did
but the cafe was busy
i kept walking
my eyes tearing
you were dead to the world
to me
that's life, i understand
i did look back
one final time
you in solitude, and in grace
a bouquet, so beautiful
of white pearly roses
accented with long
carriage of stems
and a touch of ferns
so beautiful,
my dear,
so beautiful
you broke my heart
