Her Own Pain
Rachel
lost her mind
as her husband
drove down the driveway one last time
headed for his true love
he never
returned
he took his guitar
his suitcase
and his
good sense.
Rachel
stood for a time at the kitchen sink
then chopped her hair off short
in chunks
the hair
lay in the sink for days
as she shuffled around
shocked in self pity
Rachel
of course
never thought he'd leave
and now
she couldn't even feel
her own pain
Rachel found out
that no one
was going to
come along and
clean up her mess
ever
again
a rude awakening
