Her Eyes Within the Sun
HER EYES WITHIN THE SUN
IN my eyes in the sun
here little Efflie's head
all made of gingerbread
summer's stench so i called
so i met the judgment call
of boiling heat and life's stench
i walked toward the coffin lid
and washed away the steel rain
And winds sometimes are too long
for soul snakes and in youth i
pray Jesus you sent a black hole
to wash away the filth and pain
black-hole won't you come
and third crumb won't you come
laughing as though they were alive
So i hang my head -- black-hole
eyes wash away (*won't you come)
universe imAGINE i sAY
this is my little sister & i could
(bellowing through the noise)
And then in my shoes of youth
i sent someone: black-hole come
and a last crumb wash some same
whispered God//come//come/come
/won't you come/
Just imagine as i lay and say
so come to me my black hole heart
God amongst a monstrous din
making little steps into the
hole of understanding little
Efflie so come so come so come
-- colored face of her biggest
whey -- her eyes within the sun
