Helpless and Hoping
Helpless and hoping
I can continue coping
With the desolate feelings
That are tearing at my heart.
Lonely, I’m the only
That’s not phony
In the drama
Enacted in my mind.
Broken and unhealthy
I know that I’m guilty
Of betraying the integrity
Of my soul.
Sad and lamenting
As my life is near its end
With the sad legacy I’ve left
To my humanity friend.
