Helpless
In a place so dark, so deep.
Where only the minds of the irrational sleep
There is only one certainty,
That love wasn’t meant for me.
Tears of helplessness fall in the night.
Like daggers in the eye, to rid you of sight.
Loving a man who doesn’t see,
His fire is slowly burning me.
Eyes that show a woman defeated,
Smiles that mask a heart mistreated.
So many loved ones unaware of what they see,
That hell on earth is the fate for me.
Escape is a choice I can not make.
Defence is a battle I can not wake.
Tied to this torture I must be,
As walking alone wasn’t meant for me.
