Oh, poor heart, why are you in so much pain? Why do you take this heart ache, when someone who you know is in pain. Someone's sleepless nights, someone's despair, The heart bleeds when fate punishes someone so unfair. Although people know and sympathize with the misery, the helping hands, close friends and relatives vanish in a hurry. Oh lord, how can I ignore such pain even when I am struggling to survive? The poor heart will feel better thinking it helped someone's will to survive. Whether happy or unhappy, I sing Narasinh Mehta's song, "One who is human, knows the pain of others, Does good to others who are in misery, and does not let pride enter his or her mind" Narasinh Mehta – 17th Century Indian poet

A wonderful sentiment, however those that care so much must be careful to look after themselves too. An equalibrium must be reached. I like your poem lot Jay.If all those that dont care, started caring for their fellow man/woman, the burden would be lighter for those that do.

The vivacity and inspiration exuded by your exquisite poetry are truly remarkable. In a world dominated by egotism and self-absorption, the rarity of possessing the willingness to aid those in distress is an immense source of elation.

So very inspirational ! Laugh with those who laugh and cry with those who cry. Only humane people can feel another's pain. There is great joy in helping someone in trouble. Having a will to help others is something so rare in a world ruled by selfishness and self conceit.

This is such an inspirational message. It's so easy to sit back and wallow in one's pain . I do it all the time. I know I need to think more of others. I hear of so many people in misery. Wouldn't it be nice if we could wave a wand and make all the pain go away!!
