Hello Pain

Hello pain,
I was wondering where you had been,
As I knew you couldn't stay away forever,
But I did appreciate the breather.

You still feel the same,
Do you play the same games?

I will not stop doing things or change my style,
Just because you are back in my life.
I always did things in spite of you,
Or even because of you.
I thought you had finished testing me ,
As there is nothing more you can teach me
And I figured out your purpose long ago.

It makes no difference if you stay or go,
You won't change me in any way,
No matter how long you stay.
I have too many things to do to be bothered by you.

In some ways you give me strength,
When things have to be dealt with.
I am even comfortable with you
And have no anger towards you.
I don't mind how long you stay,
Or if you come along with me all the way.

You are a true inspiration to pain David We all have levels of pain at different times in our lives, but continual pain sometimes feels a little like a betrayal, yet it is there to truly encourage one that they can go that step further and hopefully with faith and love, block out that intolerable pain. Both my parents sadly died in great pain. Poetry wishes my friend, Jennifer.

I was glad I was able to put this one to paper for others to read. My Father passed away in pain also. I owe my parents for helping me through the pain barrier instead of trying to give me a life without pain which is impossible as success does not come without some level of pain. Thanks again for reading. Best regards David

Thanks. I wrote it firstly as tribute to people I have known who have crossed the pain barrier and came out the other side. Examples to us all. Too many people give up unable to find way through. Want others to gain strength and comfort. Also need a carrot at other side of pain barrier. Wanted my poem to inspire.

Glad you liked it. I wrote it in awe of so many people I know who have endured unimaginable pain and remained cheerful. Also want to help others understand that to excel at anything first you need to cross the pain barrier. Unfortunately the pain threshold of so many people nowadays is quite low. Regards David
