Hello October

Trees display vibrant colours that fall in a glorious, crunchy tapestry. Fruits are ready to harvest, lush blackberries, golden crabapples, plump, purple sloes covered in their purple blush. Prickly hedgehogs and sleepy dormice gorge themselves in readiness for their winter sleep. Murmurations of starlings create intricate, wheeling patterns in the sky, twisting and turning in harmony. The air smells different. Glistening dew forms on spiders webs, highlighting their beauty and strength. Hello October, so happy to see you, Autumn is truly here.

Yes, every season has it personal imagery. Here in New England autumn means brilliant colors (in good years), morning frost, chilly temperatures, a change to warmer clothing. Spring and autumn are my two favorite seasons. Glad I brought a chuckle to your day. M

In your poem colours of October are calling us irresistibly ... as in pain the pleasure disintegrates gloriously ... A joy to read ...

October painted in all its glory with words that equal in beauty the leaves of autumn trees! Marvelously done dear, Elizabeth!
