I like how you've conveyed the smoke and heat from your state's major fires in this October haiku. Maybe that's stretching the interpretation, but smoky leaves and melting the moon just take me there. So glad you didn't have to evacuate, my friend. Great haiku.

It was certainly influenced by the fires, but I was also thinking of the smoky smell of burning leaves that happen in October, thanks for commenting!

I love how you use Smoky to describe an autumn leaf. They turn brown really fast where I live. I don't get to see much color because of this. Great write! Love, Angie
