Hello Good-Bye
Sitting on a bench hearing crickets at the edge of the bay
saying goodbye but I had just said hello yet here it is leaving
time while all those plans have been used up and a new
itinerary has already started though really it’s the end of the
last song of the last plan starting fresh with excitement finally
sitting in my belly the can is packed and I have yellow
highlighted the map with our purpose routed down through
the mid-west states cutting across Washington to saunter
into Pendleton in Oregon’s upper neck where we’ll slice off
the top to Boise and say adieu to a friend’s niece in the Salt
Lake somewhere have you ever been to the Arches National
park as we haven’t before so there will have to be a day or
two hanging upside down with nature’s art in the desert
before we cross to the wilds of our southern neighbor of
Mexico pilgrims with their big smiles and their big hearts.
