Hello
Hello I whisper to the dawning sky
clouds hanging upside down
pushing the wind into my mouth
to taste the freshness of rain
before it falls to bless the trees
trees bend to hear the birds
who have gathered to protest
and replace their songs with silence
The flowers fold inside themselves
wrapped up in satin jackets
See you later I say to the sun
who sent a yellow beam to greet me
then, being ambushed by the storm
ran away with my scarf around his neck
Now, I’m sheltering in a coffee shop
A hot latte I traded for my basket of stars
