Hello I whisper to the dawning sky clouds hanging upside down pushing the wind into my mouth to taste the freshness of rain before it falls to bless the trees trees bend to hear the birds who have gathered to protest and replace their songs with silence The flowers fold inside themselves wrapped up in satin jackets See you later I say to the sun who sent a yellow beam to greet me then, being ambushed by the storm ran away with my scarf around his neck Now, I’m sheltering in a coffee shop A hot latte I traded for my basket of stars
