Heaven's Gain
HEAVEN’S GAIN
Patiently He waited
For His child to see Him there
He knew that if she let Him
He could take away each care
He looked at her with mercy
His eyes were filled with love
His presence brought compassion
And God’s power from above
He spoke to her heart gently
He whispered to her soul
He showed her scenes of beauty
And made the thunder roll
He longed for her to see Him
So He went to every length
To show her an example
Of His glorious might and strength
Then one day the angels
Rejoiced with songs of praise
For she had come to know Him
In the time of her last days
He knew that she was fading
Her time was drawing near
She trusted in her Savior
She would no longer fear
And when at last the day arrived
For Him to take her home
She breathed her last on earth
And then she met Him at His throne
Her soul was filled with joy
This was where she’d longed to be
And time was of no consequence
This was eternity
Here on earth we feel the loss
We grieve for her with tears
But she knows each moment there
Is like a thousand years
So as we wait and wonder
And as moments pass us by
We’ll all be reunited
In the twinkling of an eye
Though she leaves an empty space
That none can ever fill
We must know that all shall be
Accomplished by His will
Let us not be overcome
With brokenness and pain
Rather, let us realize
Our loss is Heaven’s gain!
