Heaven Is On My Mind
Heaven was on my mind, with such joy was this glory to find
Knowing that hell was real, shattered the reality of my appeal
For I thought I was fine, until the light of the gospel did shine
And my works were of no worth, For I needed the new birth
I was taught such damning lies, all of which the truth defies
My bad outweighed my good, and before God, in sin I stood
Helpless and hopeless in sin, Jesus said I must be born again
He came as our Saviour you see, To save both you and me
So, then I turned to God you know, asking him to save my soul
With all of my heart I cried, repenting of sin and not one to hide
I open my heart to receive, His great salvation to all who believe
By grace through faith set free, I'm his child now, for all eternity
Now heaven is on my mind, This new glory I come to find
His mercy became so real, when I come to make my appeal
Forgiven and made anew, all because of what God did do
My new home now is my find; Heaven is always on my mind
