Heart's Truths

Listen to poem:

in the hush of dark
it opens wide
setting free
the wings of truth

subtleties not seen
by naked eye
in daylight misconstrued

it’s in the midnight hour
when all is peaceful
that my heart reveals
its deepest truths

the universe at large
the home where we belong
this life of ours
within the realm of eternity
is just a flash
a wink

meaningless
yet
hardly so
