Hearts Shadows

Broken heart black with grief casting shadows Teal tears grabbing wrinkled cheek as if life lines save souls Precious memory of good weighing the bad deciding to sing the blues Bloody blasphemy! How dare you put less value on the grim events! Without them time has no measure of merit Gold and silver mean nothing to the pigs Who love the dirt of the earth Still caress pain as a power to persevere Defy the odds despite the dark clouds of this day. Victor I find you to be a master of poetry and I most humbly appreciate your weighted opinion. Nothing I ever wrote has been called "perfect poetry". So I strive to bust this glass ceiling. Thank you dear!

Dear Karen, your poignant verse is powerfully and creatively expressed. I especially admire the imagery of "Teal tears grabbing wrinkled cheek as if life lines save souls" Stunning! Your last two lines are a potent defiance to pain and loss and a great finale to a visceral piece. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
