Hearts Despair

Across the many miles lies my heart
Vanquished to an eternal stay alone
Never to touch another, to be a part
Left cast aside, to be turned to stone

As desert sun descends in western sky
My heart, it watches the sky turn black
For no light, except stars, hits its eyes
As it prays to God, that day comes back

For a days with sunshine, it now lacks
Succumbing to loneliness, under attack
