Heart's Desire
Sometime I wonder how to seize control
Of my vagrant and foolish heart
How to confine it to its prime role
To sweet fragrance of love impart
To burn in the flame of love
And fret not in anguish and despair
Life has burdens severe and tough
Endure the treatments foul or fair
The turbulent seas of lust and greed
Rocking the vessel of society’s scruples
Turmoil, conflict and Strife breed
Banishing civility, integrity and principles
Let the light of love and kindness glow
In the darkness of the hour dense
Let the stream of benevolence and compassion flow
Seek not a reward or recompense.
