Heartfelt Poem To a Soldier

Dear Hero

You woke each morning to an ordinary life
Knowing too soon you would be fighting for your life

What bravery to cause you to sacrifice
What courage it takes to defend the life that is mine

What courage it takes to face the enemy alone
When did you decide to be a hero to all us,to you unknown

How do you watch losing your friends one by one
It hurts me,the thought, you being someones daughter or son

How do you stay sane when you return
How do you cope after all you have learned

You woke there each morning to hear a blast
You now wake each morning to a scream from the past

Thank you will not ever be enough
Takes a special few to ever be that tough
