Heartfelt Hope

Heartfelt Hope She broke his walls down, bit by bit Letting the wounded man inside, out Little by little Hoping he would see That his feelings for her were undeniable, Just as hers were, for him That the connection between them was unbreakable, Their love for each other was unavoidable, And beautiful, And nothing to be ashamed of For she believed, That if their love was truly meant to be, In God's timing, it would be... And the heartbreaks they both endured along the way Would draw their souls together in perfect partnership And their unforgettable, Long lost, first love Would begin anew

Tammy, this so resonates with my experience. Except my friend is a young widow, not my first love. God factored in a lot because I met her in church, & thought "fraternization" was taboo. Your poem is so near, dear, & shows how some (women) have a gift of letting the "wounded man, out." shalom/Peace/ShalOm. anil deo
