HEART THAT STRIVES TO BE HOLY FOR THE LORD
Our heart strives to be holy for the Lord, confessing our sinfulness
Which destroys us along personal weakness
Whenever we yield to instruments of unrighteousness…
Now, we pursue after His forgiveness, repenting with humbleness.
Our heart strives to be holy for the Lord, submitting our haughtiness
Which fails us along ignorance and foolishness
Whenever we think highly of ourselves despite carnality’s unworthiness…
Now, we surrender to His leadership’s greatness.
Our heart strives to be holy for the Lord, admitting our selfishness
Which drowns us along enticements of lustfulness
Whenever we succumb to vanities’ deceitfulness…
Now, we come to His throne of graciousness.
Our heart strives to be holy for the Lord, grieving over our wickedness
Which tramples us along evil destructiveness
Whenever we fall to temptations’ perilousness…
Now, we depend on His strength’s firmness.
Our heart strives to be holy for the Lord, turning from our worldliness
Which invites us along materialism’s nothingness
Whenever we covet earthly gains’ bountifulness…
Now, we cling to His divine care’s wealth-wellness.
Our heart strives to be holy for the Lord, asking sanctification for our filthiness
Which drives us along corruption’s fatal business
Whenever we immerse ourselves into pride’s perverseness…
Now, we desire Him and delight in His loving kindness.
Our heart strives to be holy for the Lord, forsaking our unfaithfulness
Which hinders us along complacency and slothfulness
Whenever we neglect His Word and succumb to our weakness…
Now, we pray for revival, begging for His help with our gratefulness.
