HEART THAT SEEKS REFUGE IN THE LORD
Our heart seeks refuge in the Lord with our dedication
Despite slothfulness’ alluring invitation
Midst convenience of worldliness’ pre-occupation
For us to forsake negligence of indolence-instigation.
Our heart seeks refuge in the Lord with our diligence
Despite laxity’s attacking emergence
Midst fatigue-boredom’s resurgence
For us to labour with willing obedience.
Our heart seeks refuge in the Lord with our devotedness
Despite backsliding’s threatening destructiveness
Midst hatred-anger’s bitterness
For us to seek great revival-fullness.
Our heart seeks refuge in the Lord with our development
Despite stagnation’s retarding entrapment
Midst comfort level-opportunity’s settlement
For us to pursue further kingdom-advancement.
Our heart seeks refuge in the Lord with our dependence
Despite pride’s towering confidence
Midst self-sufficiency’s incidence
For us to abide in His goodness’ providence.
Our heart seeks refuge in the Lord with our delight
Despite ambition’s interfering blight
Midst skepticism-humanism’s compromise-height
For us to live within His empowerment’s might.
Our heart seeks refuge in the Lord with our despair
Despite motive’s exposing vanity-flair
Midst distress-discouragement’s stare
For us to remain humble while submitting to His compassion and care.
