Key Verse – Isaiah 31:4 For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
HEART THAT RELIES ON THE LORD WHO FIGHTS FOR US
Our heart relies on the Lord Who fights for us against hell…
Now, we’re bound to His kingdom, eternally well
As He helps us so His Gospel we can tell
With His salvation’s message of assurance-bell.
Our heart relies on the Lord Who fights for us against fright…
Now, we’re secured by His presence, intimately near with delight
As He lights us so we can bear burdens upon faith’s height
With His truth’s radiance so bright.
Our heart relies on the Lord Who fights for us against soul’s poverty…
Now, we’re enriched with His provisions, constantly plenty
As He blesses us so we can share despite threats of scarcity
With His inspiration’s joy and glad sincerity.
Our heart relies on the Lord Who fights for us against selfishness…
Now, we’re transformed by His grace, gradually unto selflessness
As He works in us so we can labour for Him midst earnest willingness
With surrender’s response along obedient submissiveness.
Our heart relies on the Lord Who fights for us against evil…
Now, we’re guarded around His holiness, morally civil
As He sanctifies us so we can testify in His name despite deceits of the devil
With His triumph’s strength upon divine anvil.
Our heart relies on the Lord Who fights for us against sin-torture…
Now, we’re pardoned along His forgiveness, spiritually kept in His nurture
As He shields us with His peace from hypocrisy of human nature
With His kindness’ commitment toward our compassion-venture.
Our heart relies on the Lord Who fights for us against guilt…
Now, we’re cleansed by His righteousness, steadfastly built
As He assures us His promises that cannot fade and wilt
With His Scriptures’ might, anchored by His omnipotence that will never tilt.
