HEART THAT RELIES ON GOD WHO IS THE ROCK AND SHIELD
Our heart relies on God Who is our rock and shield against sin’s bondage
Since He forgives us along our confession’s courage
So that we can be revived from guiltiness’ damage
Ever sanctified by His pardoning gauge.
Our heart relies on God Who is our rock and shield against iniquity’s captivity
Since He delivers us along our repentance-sincerity
So that we can be cleansed from dishonesty
Ever purged by His transforming purity.
Our heart relies on God Who is our rock and shield against doubt’s deception
Since He enlightens us along our truth-seeking action
So that we can be illumined from evil’s corruption
Ever guided by His wise direction.
Our heart relies on God Who is our rock and shield against trespasses’ heaviness
Since He helps us along our admitted weakness
So that we can be guarded from wickedness’ filthiness
Ever kept by His empowering faithfulness.
Our heart relies on God Who is our rock and shield against transgressions’ entrapment
Since He frees us along our escape-struggles’ predicament
So that we can be liberated from worldliness’ involvement
Ever led by His heavenly discernment.
Our heart relies on God Who is our rock and shield against pride’s insistence
Since He humbles us along our abased existence
So that we can be chastised from hypocrisy’s pretense
Ever disciplined by His loving holiness-persistence.
Our heart relies on God Who is our rock and shield against slothfulness’ blow
Since He drives us along our servanthood-commitment glow
So that we can be inspired from laziness’ flow
Ever propelled by His sacrifice as we spiritually go and grow.
