HEART THAT REJOICES IN THE LORD

Our heart rejoices in the Lord through His Word
Which He established by His truth’s record
Ever upholding us against being worldly and vainly bored
While we seek His will along the grace He alone can afford.

Our heart rejoices in the Lord through His name
Which He magnified midst His divine fame
Ever brightening us with salvation-assurance flame
While we glow in His radiance, sanctified from sin’s shame.

Our heart rejoices in the Lord through His holiness
Which He affirmed through His perfect righteousness
Ever correcting us from pride and selfishness
While we receive His reproofs for transformation’s effectiveness.

Our heart rejoices in the Lord through His wise direction
Which He authored by virtue of His love’s action
Ever caring for us despite human corruption
While we stay in His fellowship for contentment’s satisfaction.

Our heart rejoices in the Lord through His majesty
Which He ordained in His sovereignty
Ever teaching us to submit with genuine humility
While we follow His guidance of fatherly authority.

Our heart rejoices in the Lord through His blessing
Which He planned according to His timely placing
Ever gladdening us so we can go on … heavenly pressing
While we delight in His presence of fellowship’s bracing.

Our heart rejoices in the Lord through His light
Which He purposed to be vibrantly bright
Ever illumining us against disobedience-blight
While we serve by His might along His truth and right.
