HEART THAT REFRAINS FROM DISPLEASING THE LORD
Our heart refrains from displeasing the Lord with our complaining
Since He has given us victory toward faith’s gaining
We must remember such to overcome murmuring and sinning
Since He is our Almighty God...
...powerfully prevailing for our joyful winning.
Our heart refrains from displeasing the Lord by being carnal
Since He has given us an inheritance that is eternal
We must value such more than the ephemeral
Since He is our Provider...
...supremely sovereign, authoritatively supernal.
Our heart refrains from displeasing the Lord by doing nothing as useless
Since He has given us everlasting life that is priceless
We must cherish such to subdue vanity, really worthless
Since He is our Benefactor...
...absolutely generous with gifts always measureless.
Our heart refrains from displeasing the Lord by offering what is imperfect
Since He has given us His Word that is perfect
We must keep such which is in the center of His will whenever we select
Since He is our Teacher...
...constantly wise in molding our godly intellect.
Our heart refrains from displeasing the Lord by neglecting to work with zest
Since He has given us His utmost sacrifice that is the best
We must treasure such while staying in His plan, the greatest
Since He is our All...
...victoriously triumphant over the finest.
Our heart refrains from displeasing the Lord by being unfaithful
Since He has given us the opportunity to be useful
Let us prosper through such and strive to be fruitful
Since He is our Maker...
...excellently effective in building us to be skillful.
Our heart refrains from displeasing the Lord by becoming anxious
Since He has given us His promise that is precious
Let us trust such, thanking Him for being constantly gracious
Since He is our Supplier...
...unceasingly bountiful for harvest, verily plenteous.
