May 28 Heart for God Bible Meditations Based on Nehemiah 10-11
Key Verse – Nehemiah 10:29 They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes.
HEART THAT OBSERVES AND DOES THE COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD
Our heart observes and does the commandments of the Lord upon His ruling
With His right hand of holiness-pulling
Against transgression-ailing
So that we can stand by His gracious refueling.
Our heart observes and does the commandments of the Lord upon His strengthening
With His ready might of persistent faith-running
Against quitting due to waning
So that we can pursue by His mercy for our learning.
Our heart observes and does the commandments of the Lord upon His upholding
With His helpful gesture of righteousness-treading
Against wayward lifestyle and backsliding
So that we can move forward by His authoritative leading.
Our heart observes and does the commandments of the Lord upon His teaching
With His Biblical standards of conviction-preaching
Against timidity and cowardice in out-reaching
So that we can win souls by His faithfulness-stretching.
Our heart observes and does the commandments of the Lord upon His correcting
With His loving chastisement of virtue-directing
Against laxity along slothfulness’ besetting
So that we can bend to His will by His truth-instructing.
Our heart observes and does the commandments of the Lord upon His working
With His great miracles of power-trekking
Against pride and selfishness that need breaking
So that we can serve by His stewardship-making.
Our heart observes and does the commandments of the Lord upon His cheering
With His Scriptural principles of servanthood, always empowering
Against worldliness and its vain success so overbearing
So that we can glorify Him by His Word that is soul-rearing and spirit-gearing.
