HEART THAT INTREATS THE LORD FOR HIS ANSWER
Our heart intreats the Lord for His answer along His purpose
With His power against sins that oppose
Within His promises we believe in, not only suppose
Without worldly prohibitions attacking to interpose.
Our heart intreats the Lord for His answer along His mission
With His might against slothfulness-destruction
Within His drive for soulwinning fruition
Without fleshly maneuverings corrupting our devotion.
Our heart intreats the Lord for His answer along His endeavour
With His energy against humanistic fervour
Within His enthusiasm of righteousness’ favour
Without carnal enticements spoiling heavenly savour.
Our heart intreats the Lord for His answer along His name
With His nourishment against consuming pride-flame
Within His nurturing satisfaction we can always claim
Without wicked noise attracting materialistic game.
Our heart intreats the Lord for His answer along His honour
With His help against reproaching dishonour
Within His hand protecting our demeanor
Without evil hell-foes mocking in their hateful tenor.
Our heart intreats the Lord for His answer along His glory
With His goodness against deplorable misery
Within His graciousness for godly victory
Without selfish greatness magnifying heroic story.
Our heart intreats the Lord for His answer along His revival
With His assurance against unbelief’s grievous interval
Within His truth for wisdom-approval
Without hesitation to wait for His glorious arrival.
