HEART THAT FOLLOWS THE LORD AS GOD
Our heart follows the Lord as God with His righteousness
Against wickedness of iniquities’ filthiness
To sanctify us for heavenly pursuits through His holiness
While He shields our soul from evil sinfulness.
Our heart follows the Lord as God with His compassion’s function
Against spoilage of violence-contention
To protect us for kind deeds along virtuous transformation
While He guards our devotion from strife’s destruction.
Our heart follows the Lord as God with His wisdom
Against decisions of foolishness’ boredom
To direct us for biblical truths in advancing His kingdom
While He guides our mind from humanistic atheistic freedom.
Our heart follows the Lord as God with His might
Against dealings of treachery’s blight
To empower us for pleasant faith-acts of His delight
While He strengthens our trust from unbelief’s sight.
Our heart follows the Lord as God with His mercy
Against afflictions of bitterness’ persistency
To help us for sincere service by His fervency
While He pulls our spirit from wrath’s despondency.
Our heart follows the Lord as God with His presence
Against gloominess of desolation’s silence
To cheer us up for joyful worship upon His divine license
While He blesses our life from offences’ prevalence.
Our heart follows the Lord as God with His authority
Against disobedience of rebelliousness’ tenacity
To control us for submissive surrender to His sovereignty
As He upholds our confidence from selfish vanity.
