HEART THAT COMMITS WORKS UNTO THE LORD
Our heart commits our works unto the Lord by His grace
With His steadfast brace
Despite wavering in the Christian race
Since He helps us to give Him always our worship and praise.
Our heart commits our works unto the Lord by His Word
With His credible record
Despite unfaithfulness along spiritual ford
Since He teaches us to trust Him always – our Saviour and Lord.
Our heart commits our works unto the Lord by His peace
With His offered love and joy that do not cease
Despite troubles which doubtfully tease
Since He leads us to follow Him always against sinfulness’ disease.
Our heart commits our works unto the Lord by His deed
With His marvelous acts indeed
Despite wants overwhelming every need
Since He moves to prioritize Him always as we sow kindness’ seed.
Our heart commits our works unto the Lord by His engagements
With His compassionate encouragements
Despite struggles against worldly entanglements
Since He guides us to cleave to Him always for eternal accomplishments.
Our heart commits our works unto the Lord by His aim
With His heavenly flame
Despite fruitlessness caused by losses’ claim
Since He trains us to abide in Him always while we exalt His name.
Our heart commits our works unto the Lord by His light
With His revealed wisdom directing our faith’s sight
Despite unbelief’s blight
Since He drives us to seek Him always, winning in our holy fight for what is right.
