HEART THAT CLINGS TO THE LORD GOD BY HIS HOLINESS
Our heart clings to the Lord God by His holiness and mercy
While He reaches to us who are sinful along carnal tendency
In our transgressions of iniquity’s potency…
He forgives our confessed errors with His righteous love’s persistency.
Our heart clings to the Lord God by His holiness and graciousness
While He deals kindly with us who are proud along vain haughtiness
In our arrogance with boastful self-righteousness…
He humbles our stubbornness.
Our heart clings to the Lord God by His holiness and care
While He rebukes us who are unconcerned along apathetic stare
In our hypocrisy amidst deceitful dare…
He checks our spiritual welfare.
Our heart clings to the Lord God by His holiness and deliverance
While He disciplines us who are unfaithful along unbelief’s endurance
In our doubtfulness due to ignorance…
He upholds our commitment for devoted perseverance.
Our heart clings to the Lord God by His holiness and might
While He corrects us who are disobedient along commandments we fight
In our defiance to standards’ height …
He maneuvers our will for prayer-delight.
Our heart clings to the Lord God by His holiness and wisdom
While He enables us who are wavering along advancement of heavenly kingdom
In our foolishness in turning from truthful freedom…
He settles our mind from useless boredom.
Our heart clings to the Lord God by His holiness and presence
While He encourages us who are struggling along victory’s essence
In our weariness due to temptation of carnality with worldly license...
He leads our steps toward His prayer-altar’s iridescence.
