HEART THAT CLEAVES TO THE LORD WHO RULES OVER US
Our heart cleaves to the Lord Who rules over us in His perfect will
While teaching us to trust Him, keeping still
So that His plan we can fulfill
By His tender mercies that make us reach victory hill.
Our heart cleaves to the Lord Who rules over us in His precious worthiness
While reminding us to depend on Him for His graciousness
So that His design we can acknowledge with gratefulness
By His loving kindnesses that fill our vanity-caused emptiness.
Our heart cleaves to the Lord Who rules over us in His constant watchfulness-care
While guiding us to rely on His divine welfare
So that His direction we can follow midst rebellion’s dare
By His leadership that propels us to advance along His presence-stare.
Our heart cleaves to the Lord Who rules over us in His pure wisdom
While instructing us to enjoy His granted salvation-freedom
So that His advice we can apply always, not seldom
By His counsel that drives us to advance His kingdom.
Our heart cleaves to the Lord Who rules over us in His holy Word
While bracing us up against secular ford
So that His truth we can declare as the Spirit’s sword
By His precepts that uphold us along His heavenly cord.
Our heart cleaves to the Lord Who rules over us in His Scriptural leadership
While calling us to His friendship-fellowship
So that His love we can manifest through our dedicated stewardship
By His inspiration that brings us to His warm partnership.
Our heart cleaves to the Lord Who rules over us in His steadfast victory
While ushering us toward triumphant march to His glory
So that His peace and hope we can testify as we declare the Gospel story
By His revival that radiates to us His eternal wonders throughout His territory.
