Heart of Stone

I felt we were the perfect couple, But outside forces will always, Stop us from being in love. Something was missing, Opportunity's not taken, Noticing something wasn't quite right. Teasing me, playing with my heart, Then sensing she was the wrong woman. Realizing she was stopping herself, From falling in love. She gave me what I thought I needed, But my mind, body, and soul wouldn't, Let us open the door to allow ourselves, To be free to love. I was afraid of being hurt by you again. So I walk away and your wall, Continues to stand not, Allowing anyone in.

Thank you so much for your comment. At times you always wonder why people hold a wall up that is imaginary and only in their mind. Yet that is their one reason why they will never commit.

Hello Oklegirlsrock Hudson, some walls take a lot of time to tumble down. Some walls do not tumble at all. One must learn to let go. Hugs.
