Heart In Distress

Admired from afar
As a distant shining star
Heavy this heart does beat
When by chance we do meet
Unable to glimpse into your eyes
As if a dark shadow passes by
Painfully, if I weren't so shy
I would, as we pass, say hi
This courage I do not posses
For now, my heart remains in distress

How did you know about my feelings for Jack O'Hannon? It was long ago but well I remember tripping over my own insecurities every time he was near - so much so that I was void of any personality. You stated the feel of unrequited love for the shy ones as shy turned by all they yearn. This is grand, but not so the feeling! Poetry hugs ... CayCay
