Heart Break

Chill winds surge atop placid lake
Reflections of rapture shattered
My hope of redemption laying in shards
Tears flow, dreams end in desolation

A tempest beats against the keep
The palisade of my heart overwhelmed
My hope of atonement laying in fragments
Tears flow, dreams end in despair

The tumult rakes silent green forest
Stillness of soul severed carelessly
My hope of expiation laying in wreckage
Tears flow, dreams end in desperation

Maelstrom tears asunder grey sky
Mind reals devastated, images deluge
My hope of salvation laying in tatters
Tears flow, dreams end in defeat

I am forlorn!
I am alone!
I am lost!

Perchance truth lies silently within such words as these, waiting to be released by the magic of a poet's dream. Wonderful work with great feeling spurring deep emotion! Emile #7

Thank you Emile for your kind words. I seem to keep falling back into the same place with my poems of late, I am not in a happy place. love Shane

Thank you Andrea. I am glad you had time to read it. I always seem to drop back into the dark when i get upset. Maybe some of Jan's humour may rub off on me one day and give me a better option. love Shane xxx

You have painted a dark picture and one that I have experienced, and it is about as bad as bad can be. I have no advice. You will work it out by yourself.

It wears us all down. Work family friends and keeping up with the Jones' on soup. It is a gruelling schedule we set for ourselves. No real ME time to be had is not good for the soul. Shane xxx

Thank you for taking the time to read my work. Your poem "Home of my childhood" really touched me and brought back memories of childhhood and home for me. I am looking forward to reading more of your work. It all does seem a little daunting to this new comer to soup i am lucky that Jan took me under her wing and collaborated on four poems with me. I am really missing her input and humor now. love Shane xxx
