Healing Deserved

Thank you for your visits to this motivational series. I appreciate the visits and comments. This may be the last of the series for now, as I take a break with other poems. Then, I may continue. This poem is for anyone who has experienced, trauma, tragedy or abuse. #9: Motivational Series Healing Deserved I know it seems at times, there may be no way out of the pain Abuse and trauma can change a life, bringing spells like the rain Sometimes the skies are so dark, if you are reliving horrible things It may be difficult to hear anything out there that sings The feeling may be that no-one could ever understand It truly does take someone to stand in your shoes on this land Maybe you’ve been told hundreds of times, things will get better Yet, it may not feel that way even with a loving letter All I can say is, abuse and trauma to anyone is so wrong! Every human is worthy of hearing the beautiful song! The song of life that brings joy, in that place you belong I’m here to tell you, I made it through the darkest doom Things that you can’t just sweep away with a broom! But I am just like you, hoping for the best in life to be At my doorstep, each morning with beauty to see Whoever you are, you are deserving of love, safety, healing! All of this is possible, no matter what it is you are feeling! Heidi Sands 1/9/19

Hi Sandy. Thank you for your comment on this. I really appreciate it. It is a life long process. There have been many circles. Trauma like this never goes away. It is processed ongoing. A part of life. That is why it is so important to do what is right about it and take actions for others. It changes a life. It is what it is :)

Sadly we cannot erase painful past experience's, but only convince victims that they are special, and that we are all equal as human beings. Another great write Heidi and I hope that it is helping you come to terms with the past. Tom.

Thank you Tom. The series is not just for me. I have been dealing with the past a long time and as you once said, the scars remain, so it is a process throughout life. But I wanted to be a voice for all victims and reach out. I appreciate your visits to this series very much. Thank you :)

If we could only convince abuse victims that they are worthy and deserve better, maybe some of them could leave abusive relationships. Doesn't work for children, but there are lots of others it would help. Nice series, Heidi, on an important topic. Hugs, carolyn

Hi Carolyn. Sadly there are many types of abuse, children, battered relationships as adults, physical, mental and verbal. Etc. I used to assist running a battered women's support group and was able to see them leave atrocious situations. We have to be a voice when any abuse is noticed with children. Action must be taken. Thank you very much :)
