He Whispers I Am Here
The day you left us,
I sat alone in agony and longed to be free.
I closed my eyes and cried with pain.
But then, suddenly, I saw the rain;
I knew then, that my Jesus, weeped also with pain.
I had no words, I could not speak;
but He heard my silent plea,
and He sent His rainbow,
a double one to be precise
and whispered, “I am here!”
I dried my tears and whispered back,
“thank you Lord, I love you so”
At times I still find myself silently crying,
“I need you Lord, please speak to me”
And then, a butterfly gently flutters by,
a little flower still blooms though it be cold,
a squirrel sits nearby, watching,
a single star, alone, shines brightly in the night,
the sun shines with warmth though it is cold;
Ah yes, “thank you Jesus, I hear you now”.
I feel your presence and know you care.
Many times I may not know the words to speak,
but you see, my Jesus knows my silent plea's.
He sends these things and so much more
to gently remind me, to remind us, and says,
“My child, I am here, I feel your pain,
Believe in me, I will set you free.”
