It was lovely to read this one again, dear. Full of spiritual nourishment. You might want to give my poem another read. I've posted an audio file to it....a file of my reading of the poem.

Nice repetitious words man. I cool way of retelling the tale; for in the end Goliath was the never to get up again kind of a man lol. Richard, I did watch a theological archeologist point out that because of Goliath's unnaturally large size for those times indicated that he had some sort of brain to body ratio problem, and so had a soft point if hit would kill him. Also, that where David came from folks still use slings and are damn good shots.

I agree. All that weight and the fate of all put upon a boy's shoulders took miraculous courage.

Thanks Jeff, I appreciate you exploring my poetry. ;0). Sometimes people wish to take away from the miraculous. For me the miracle was the courage David had in facing Goliath.

Hopefully, having god on our side means that we are empathetic, fair, honorable, and with some self-control. If this is what it means, then I am all for it!! You retell the story very effectively. It could also be a metaphor for how superior technology allows one to win in the end. Swords have more than two edges.

You COULD sell this, I think, marketed to Church teen-aimed Sunday School Classes. It captivates from the get go and catching teenage attention is a sought accomplishment. I think. Loved it, may I buy it? Seriously, after it captivated me it held me, and already know the story (smiling). Poetry hugs ... CayCay

So true but not experienced on a regular enough basis. Perhaps a lack of faith or desire by us. Thanks for asking, I am doing well. Lots going on at the moment.

Great title Rick drew me in, so well said, so big and strong and yet no challenge for the God fearing shepherd boy. Lots of modern day applications can be made.

I love the parable. No matter how big problems seem, they are solvable with a working and fighting faith. Fear is debilitating. God's work being glorified...salute!

I once met a person in Australia, from Ethiopia, a christian who actually knew, someone who could trace their ancestry right back to David the one whom you write of in this splendid poem. as for form, why not 'Mono rhyme' there are many versions of such..and yes i like this a lot..

A message from God to David that has resounded for all the ages that people would be bullied for their beliefs. A good read, Rick!
