He Sounded Handsome Charming Even
I was on my cell phone for forty-two hours
I had gone through all my besties
They were busy, with lives, living them
So, I started calling the social media “friends”
People I had never met before
Most did not answer.
In desperation as my phone was about to die
I dialed a random number, hoping to hear a voice.
“Hello!” He sounded handsome, charming maybe.
I started to tell him my woes.
“I am not home right now,” he said.
At this point I did not care.
Just wanting the illusion that someone was listening
Before I jumped this bridge.
