He Rides

He Rides

When he gets lonely he rides,
all through town,
up and down
the small town streets and neighborhoods.
He lives alone,
his wife is gone,
the days are long,
so he rides.
He returns home to rest a while.
The walls start closing in,
he knows nothing else to do,
so he rides again

Beautifully written and heart wrenching. Imagery perfect for seeing him ride in my minds eye.

This one can encapsulate many versions for every walk of life. I feel it's captured universally. Good job. Keep up the good work.

Really. I was inspired to write this because my next door neighbor lost his wife to cancer several years back. He seriously rides around and is in and out all day long. I know he just gets tired of sitting at home alone with the memories. Thank you for commenting. I am brand new to this and not really computer savvy.
